So I worked all morning and what feels like all day (today was my longest day so far, worked 2 extra hours! woot woot!).. Been home alone sitting in front of the computer searching through different odds and ends..

Haven't gotten to Amazon yet, but headed there next if I finish this blog first..

All while trying to make a grocery and to-do-list. My grocery list, so far, only has conditioner on it, but I also need to buy all the ingredients for what I'm taking to my family's Thanksgiving tomorrow. My to-do-list has only one item listed as well. It centers around needing to go to Target to look for two items I found 75% off on the sale rack, but couldn't find in my size. This big belly of mine keeps getting in the way. (All day at work and other places people keep telling me that my belly isn't big yet, but gosh, my clothes sure are tight, and it seems I can't find clothes big enough.) I grocery shop at H-E-B, so I guess that is another thing that needs to be on my to-do-list along with the cooking and preparer I have planned.

So long story short, if there is one here.. Reasons why I'm waiting for the shopping..

This pregnant lady thinks driving across town to work is enough driving for her in one day.
Just started a new job, and my pay check won't be in until Friday.

Okay, so here are the pix..

I got these blocks at Target for $2.50 in the "dollar bin" area. I thought they were super cute and almost vintage looking. I think I will use them for decoration and teaching, but probably not as a toy, 'cause they are low quality, and might have splinters. They have some other toys that I really like, but not sure how the primary colors will look in a little girl's room.

Okay, so this scarf is amazing. From Forever 21. It is super soft and only cost about $9.80.

Sock monkey beanie from JCP, and I think it was on sale for only $12. Don't forget your coupons. We had one that was spend $50 get $10, plus I get an employee discount 'cause I work in the (Lifetouch) photography studio in JCP.

So Abbey and I went to Target last night. I found a few cute baby clothes on sale. The pink bottoms were only $1!

This shirt was a gift from our Abbey!

and same with this onesie.

Abbey also got us this star registry unicorn thingy. It is super cute and will look perfect in her room. I plan on getting this nice quality faux lamb skin rug that will match it perfect!

Last but not least are these ornaments. I bought the four located to the right from JCP a few weeks back with a coupon. The one of the left I found at Target last night for only $2.

So that lets me jump to my next topic. OMG it is almost Christmas and tonight is Thanksgiving Eve. I absolutely love these two holidays, and guess what is in between the two? Yep, that's right, my birthday! So totally my favorite time of the year! I love how much time is spent with the family from Thanksgiving to New Years. I totally live for this time of the year the rest of the year.

I can't wait to start cooking and preparer for tomorrow. I'm not making/bringing too much, 'cause most of it is already being made by other family members, but I will probably take and post pictures during my process.

OH and I can't wait for tomorrow because of all the pictures I will get to take, so stay tuned for those!

Lately I've been experiencing the hardest part of my pregnancy since the beginning. I made my way through the morning sickness, but now it is this back pain that is killing me. My whole body actually hurts super bad. I'm not trying to complain, and I'm pretty sure this is all normal, but I can barely get off the floor/stand up and down. I feel like it is the next day after a full body work out that strained every muscle of my body.

Anywho. I guess I am going to say good-bye now, so "Love you && Good-bye!

Only 36 More Days!

Yes, I can't believe it either. In 36 more days I will have completed all my courses at The Art Institute and hold within my hands a Bachelor degree.

This week I am finally sitting down to work on pulling together my online portfolio. The past week has been extremely hectic. I was in a car accident leaving me in never ending pain accompanied by 24/7 headaches. I'm sure you can imagine how it has hindered my efforts. I'm still trying to figure out how frequent I should take the medicine, the doses, and all that good stuff.

I made a list of everything I need to do in each class to graduate. The most important would be this portfolio. I never realized how expensive the portfolio show is going to be. I must have 75 copies of everything just in case. I need resumes, business cards, CD cases, the CD case sleeve/cover, the CD label, etc.

Well I don't really have any time to waste, but felt the need to update my blog.
Oh and I joined a gym!

50 Days

Good Evening from Room 513 at The Art Institute of Houston

There are only 50 full days left until I graduate and say goodbye to my schooling days at The Art Institute of Houston.

Q & A with Jordan

Am I nervous?

No

Am I excited?

Yes

I have no idea what the next step in my career will be, but I most likely will not stay at my current company. I already know that I want more challenge. I am currently a graphic designer and would love to work more hands on with some web design. Yes, I do love to freelance, but I haven't found much lately. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places. Maybe I'm not seeking it. But I sure would love to find some!

I do not want to start the job hunt yet. I know there are jobs out there, but for the next few months I am very content. I know I must focus on my schooling and my current job allows for that.

I have a lot of projects due this quarter. I am taking four classes. This is the least amount of credits I've taken before, but they are probably the most in depth four classes I have ever taken.

Art History
Portfolio II
Flash 3 (not the fancy name of course)
E-Learning Applications (the second level)

Art History

So this might not seem like a hard class, but my teacher advised us that we would be spending at least ten hours a week on homework. We have a lot of writing assignments to keep up with in this class. We have to make a notebook with all the major pieces of artwork and take notes. It is mandatory we take notes. During each test we turn in our notebook and get a grade. I am most worried about the tests. I know most of the pieces and information already, but I always have really high anxiety when it comes to test taking.

I went to the museum last week. I went to MFA Houston. It was a lot of fun, but I had to rush around. I picked out three pieces and will eventually turn in my worksheets, three thesis statements, and actual papers analyzing the each artwork.

I guess it might not be the hardest class I have taken, but it will most likely be the most time consuming. I haven't spent this much time on a class since that perspective drawing class my first quarter. And even then I turned in a lot of half finished pieces. Yikes!

Portfolio II

This class is also going to be time consuming, but I have a plan. This class is extremely structured and as long as I stick with my schedule I will be fine. I am trying to learn some more languages and sharpen up on some other ones this quarter. I think better late than never. I feel by knowing more languages I will be at an advantage. I really want a good high paying job. Wish me luck. [Smile Face]

Everything I am producing in this class is going to be totally uber awesome. I am so excited for the weeks to come. And in the end I will get to showcase everything I have put together at our Portfolio Show. I am going to invites lots of people so keep your eyes open for that invite!

Flash 3

This class is a joke. I'm sorry if that sounds unprofessional, but just ask anyone in my class. Last night I learned more from the student behind me than the teacher. My ActionScript 3 skills are at their highest, and I corrected the teacher ones. We will just leave it at that.

But the project I am making for that class is going to be so cool and useful. I plan on making a website for the career advisers at my school. Every week they send out an e-mail with job leads/updates. I want to create one central location for all these leads. I have so many plans for the site, but I will just let your mouth water. LoL.

E-Learning Applications

This class is going to be the most interesting of them all. It is a group project. It isn't that I dislike group projects... BUT... The assignment we have been given has so many holes in it... We have an actual client (non-profit educational organization)... and they have vaguely told us what they want... But they know what they want the application to do... Somersaults, back flips, and some magic tricks. :) Wish me luck on this one. I will need it!

In Conclusion... LoL

So, at the Art Institute they only have the graduation ceremonies twice a year, so since my school is quarterly some students fall in the middle and have to wait a few months. Guess what? I am one of those students. So I won't actually get to walk until June?

So this is what I'm thinking... I want to have a dinner that weekend I get my diploma and maybe an outdoor party the weekend I actually walk the stage. What do you think?
